Working as the lead front-end Software Engineer, my team at Band Digital launched an award winning customization application that allows users to customize their very own Harley Davidson motorcycle. The application allows for all of the current models in HD’s vehicle lineup to be customized and previewed in 8 distinct angles.
Custom preloader that loads both the flex frame works and all data needed at startup.
The Bike Builder was built using the Flex Spark framework utilizing a Cairngorm design.
A user can switch between all of the available bikes in the Bike Builder.
Any part that is selectable in the bottom tray will change the appearance of the motorcycle.
By hovering over or clicking the "i" icon on any part, an overlay will popup giving a more detailed description of the part.
To preview the parts that make up the bike, a bike summary is available as part of the core interface.
For each of the top level categories of the bottom tray, a user can click on an info icon to learn more about a category.
By clicking on bike details, a window will open that shows a complete list of parts, as well as the ability to share and find a local dealer.
A set of custom wallpapers can be downloaded. Wallpapers are generated directly from your configured bike.
A user can generate a printout of their custom bike. This printout is their manifest to bring to their dealer to order their bikes.
A user can save their custom bikes. A dropdown of all saved bikes is available on the core interface.
Shows a complete list of all a users saved bikes. The list can be filtered and sorted.
